Residentials

At Pinvin C of E Academy, we believe that some of the most memorable and meaningful learning takes place beyond the classroom. Our residential programme is designed to help children develop confidence, independence, resilience and strong friendships, while creating experiences they will remember for years to come.

As part of our commitment to the Pinvin Pledge, every child is given the opportunity to spend time away from home, gradually building their confidence and sense of adventure as they move through the school.

Our residential journey is carefully planned:

  • Year 3 pupils take part in a school sleepover, providing a fun and supportive first experience of staying away from home.
  • Year 4 pupils enjoy their first overnight residential visit, giving them the opportunity to develop greater independence and experience new activities with their classmates.
  • Years 6 and 7 take part in longer residential experiences, allowing children to challenge themselves, explore new environments and create lasting memories before they move on to secondary school.

These visits play an important role in supporting children's personal development. Through outdoor learning, teamwork, problem-solving and shared experiences, pupils learn to overcome challenges, take responsibility and develop the confidence to embrace new opportunities. They also strengthen friendships, foster a sense of belonging and help children appreciate the wider world around them.

For many of our pupils, residential visits become the highlights of their primary school journey and are a key part of helping them to be happy, grow and flourish.
